As part of your application, we may ask you to complete a Guarantor form if you are a student or first-time tenant. This involves someone (often a family member or friend) agreeing to act as your guarantor. If you cannot meet your obligations under the tenancy, such as rent or payment for damage to property, your guarantor accepts liability on your behalf. It is important they understand the responsibilities and potential risks involved in agreeing to be a guarantor.
You can fill in our Guarantor form online, but you will need to download it to be signed.
This gives the details of your lease, including length of term, repair and maintenance responsibilities, any restrictions, limits on occupancy and deposit conditions. You and the landlord will both sign this and you will be given a copy. Take a look at an example of our standard lease agreement.
